Program on Globalization and Cities Development is based on the needs to further develop globalization studies in the context of regional local economic development. Hence, the program focuses its study on two main issues; First, on the impact of globalization to the local economies. Secondly, it focuses on the capacity of the local governance, particularly on how the local government can improve their capacity in coping with the challenges of globalization.

The establishment of Program on Humanitarian Action (POHA) was motivated by the needs to build an academic framework for humanitarian action in international arena. Humanitarian action was build based on the principle of humanity, neutrality, impartiality which mentioned in Geneva Convention. Program on Humanitarian Action (POHA) will concentrate on three activities: research, training and advocacy.
